We are excited to announce the After School Skills Development Program, which seeks to offer social skills learning opportunities for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) outside of the school day. The program is made up of two individual clubs, each with a specific social skills focus and target age groups.
Program 1 – Lego Club
The program will focus on learning the skills needed to play in a small social group format using Lego.
For: students with ASD who are in Kindergarten to Grade 2 during the 2023-2024 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction.
Location: in-person in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Fenelon Falls, Haliburton, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Huntsville areas schools – locations are to be determined.
Length: one 45 minute group learning session every Tuesday for eight weeks in February to March.

Program 2 – Board Game Club
The program will focus on learning the skills needed to play in a small social group format using board games.
For: students with ASD who are in Grade 3 to 5 during the 2023-2024 school year and who the school team feels would benefit from and participate in social skills instruction.
Location: in-person in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Fenelon Falls, Haliburton, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Huntsville areas schools – locations are to be determined.
Length: one 60 minute group learning session every Tuesday for eight weeks in April to June.
Application deadline: if interested, please complete the Online Registration Form by Friday, March 1, at 4 p.m.
