Thank you very much for your generous support of our fundraising through the Terry Fox Run on September 24. Together we raised $1095. Anything is possible if you try.
Mark your calendars! Photo day is October 1 at Dr. George Hall. All covid protocols will be in place for your child’s safety and health. We are looking forward to seeing many smiles!
As a principal, I often stop in to see the learning that is happening in classroom. These 21st century learning strategies are not only posted on the walls, but also in action in our school.
Terry Fox said, “Anything is possible if you try.” Inspired by his amazing example, our school is proudly taking part in this year’s Terry Fox school run on September 24. Please consider supporting us in our try and help us raise much needed funds for cancer research. Online donations are welcome. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we are not able to accept cash donations or have parent volunteers.

There have been surprising benefits of covid. One of them has been having siblings ride the bus together sitting in the same seat. This has caused siblings to get off the bus at the same time. This morning there were several older siblings who got off the bus with their brother or sister, gave them a hug and called out, “I love you, have a great day!” It warms our hearts to see and hear this first thing in the day. Parents and guardians…you’re doing a great job at building caring kids!
We certainly hope that our students have enjoyed their first day back at school with their friends, teachers, EAs, DECEs, secretaries and custodians! As the new principal, I certainly enjoyed feeling the positive vibration of our school community back together again.
For me, the first day of school is the BEST day of the year! Some students took the time to personally welcome me to the school which just warmed my heart. Other younger students made me laugh when I tried to explain that I was just like Mr. Parish. Apparently it was a poor comparison because they pointed out that I wasn’t a boy or bald! Thank you for sharing the gift of your children at Dr. George Hall. We hope to provide them with an equally valuable gift: an exceptional education in a safe and caring learning environment.
