TLDSB’s Return To School Plan

posted in: Home Page News | 0

DGH community, most of you likely received our school board’s Return To School Plan last week via some type of TLDSB communication. If you did not, the plan can be accessed by visiting the TLDSB’s main webpage:

tldsb.ca

Simply paste the above website link into your browser and the Return To School document should be on the main page. The document is called “Return to School Plan 2020 for Families”.

As additional information becomes available, we will keep our school community updated via SchoolMessenger emails and posting out to social media (when possible).

Congratulations Mrs. James!; Welcome Mrs. Whiteway!

On behalf of the DGH community, I would like to wish Mrs. James a HUGE congratulations.  She is headed to Jack Callaghan Public School as the school’s principal.  Mrs. James’ skill set and abilities make her a natural fit at Jack Callaghan!  Helping to guide a school (let alone a new school) in these rather interesting times is no easy task.  Having filled in at Mariposa Elementary School for the better part of a year previously, she brings the experience and know how to do this.  We know that she will do an amazing job!  Your energy and abilities will be missed at DGH!

With the above happening, we are excited to announce that effective immediately Mrs. Whiteway will be Dr. George Hall’s vice-principal.  Mrs. Whiteway knows our school well (she was a student at DGH!) and still has many friends and relatives in the area.  She is ecstatic about coming to the school in which she was a student!  She comes to us from the Simcoe County District School Board and looks forward to bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the TLDSB.  She also looks forward to getting to know all members of our school community.

I hope everyone in our school community continues to be healthy and safe.  We look forward to seeing and interacting with all of you as the school start up approaches!

TLDSB Student Re-Registration – Please Do Not Forget To Sign Up Today (Monday, August 17)

posted in: Home Page News | 0

DGH community, if you have not completed the TLDSB’s Re-Registration form, please do so today. A large percentage of our DGH families have done so already – which is greatly appreciated! The TLDSB has sent to all of our families a link which will bring you to the Re-Registration form where you can indicate whether your child(ren) will be returning to in-person learning (physically at school) or remote learning (a student staying at home and learning).

This information will be critical to our planning as we look forward to a return to school.

As noted above, a link has already been sent to our families. The link is unique to each family, so, unfortunately, I cannot provide a generic link in this post for everyone to use.

I hope this post finds all of our families safe and well.

Return To School Re-Registration – Must Be Completed For EVERY Student In The TLDSB

posted in: Home Page News | 0

DGH community, parents and guardians with students in our school should have received an email from the TLDSB today regarding re-registration for school in September. All of our families MUST re-register their child(ren) for school in September, indicating whether they intend for their child to attend in-school OR whether their child will participate in at-home learning. Parents must choose one option or other other. Re-registration forms must be completed by next Thursday, August 13.

The link to this form and additional information around the TLDSB’s return to school plan would have been contained in the email families received. The information is also contained on the TLDSB website: the link is here: https://tldsb.ca/return-to-school-re-registration/

Note: the link to the actual re-registration form was sent directly to families in the email you should have received (the link is not on the board website because the link is specific to each family).

Please also note that the plan is not set in stone and is subject to change based on further developments.

If you did not receive the TLDSB’s email and link from the board office, please send an email to: [email protected]
