A reminder to all participating classes and students that Elmira Chicken Fundraising Forms and Money are due into your child’s homeroom teacher tomorrow (Wednesday, October 23rd). Thanks to all who participated and supported our fundraising students. Thank you to Ms. Graham for organizing this fundraiser (that will be A LOT of chicken delivered soon!).
Superheroes are definitely back! Our Student Council is organizing its next Spirit Day for this Thursday, October 24: Superhero Day! Is Wonder Woman your favourite superhero? Perhaps Spiderman keeps your attention. Show your school spirit and wear something to do with your favourite superhero on Thursday!
Go Huskies Go! We wish good luck to our Senior Girls Soccer team as they compete at the County Tournament today. Coached by Ms. Graham, the team is looking forward to showing off their skills after all of their hard work and practices. Go Huskies Go!
A reminder that November’s Milk and Pizza Order forms are due on Tuesday, October 22nd. Please place all orders in clearly labelled envelopes or ziplock bags, with your child’s name and homeroom teacher on it. Mrs. Starr thanks you for your support of the program! We thank Mrs. Starr for organizing the program!
Thank you to our many students and staff who showed their school spirit by wearing their team’s favourite jersey! Of course, there were a few students who Mr. Parish wasn’t very happy with last Friday… Check out the photo of these 3 students showing their Boston Bruins pride!
Students in Ms. Little’s, Mrs. Burns’s, Ms. McColl’s, Ms. Graham’s, Mrs. Ayres’s,and Mr. Fournier’s classes have either begun (or will soon begin) the Elmira Chicken Fundraiser. The purpose is for students in these classes to raise money towards their year-end trips. A letter will have already gone home (or will go home in the next day or 2) providing additional information. Students earn money from each box of chicken product they sell. Interested in purchasing product, but do not have a child in these classes? Contact our office at 705-786-1915.
Ms. Arscott would like to thank the Senior Boys Soccer Team for their hard work and dedication this season. The team competed in the County Tournament on Thursday, October 10th. They won against Dunsford, and lost to Central (who went on to the win the tournament) and Bobcaygeon. While winning can be a great thing, we care as much (or more) about the sportsmanship and effort demonstrated by our team members – which Ms. Arscott commented on. The DGH community appreciates your efforts, Huskies! Thank you, also, Ms. Arscott, for coaching the team. You have coached many teams in the past few years and your commitment to our Huskies is definitely appreciated! Below you will find a team photo and list of team members.
