Thank you to Ms. Arscott and Ms. Graham for once again organizing the Jump Rope for Heart events at DGH! The kick-off assembly took place yesterday. An information letter will have gone with your daughter or son already (or will come home soon). The information letter needs to filled out by a parent and returned to your child’s homeroom teacher in order to receive a fundraising envelope. A copy of the letter sent home is attached to this post. We are excited to again be running this very popular event!
May 10th – all fundraising envelopes must be returned to the school (whether a student has fundraised or not)
Do not forget, DGH community, that Pita orders and money are due into the school this Thursday, April 11th. As always, please place orders and money into a clearly labelled envelope or ziplock bag. The label should include your child’s name and homeroom teacher. Thank you, Ms. Graham and Ms. Starr, for organizing.
Mrs. Burns’ class will be enjoying a new and interesting experience this Friday, April 12th. They are headed to the Abilities Centre in Whitby. This new facility boasts an impressive range of sports and athletic opportunities and is particularly geared to be accessible for all participants. The class will be participating in some of these fully accessible sports (e.g., wheelchair basketball). Mrs. Burns is really looking forward to the day as a learning opportunity AND a way to be physically active.
DGH community, Ms. Cayley is creating a 2018-2019 Yearbook! Orders are due by May 1. Thank you, Ms. Cayley! A copy of the order form is attached to this post. As always, please send in orders to your child’s homeroom teacher in a clearly labelled envelope or ziplock bag (with the homeroom teacher’s name and your child’s name).
After almost 2 months of practising, our Intermediate Girls Basketball Team competes at their County Tournament this Thursday, April 11th. Coached by Mrs. Graham-Hamer, the girls are ready to play! Our kids have a great attitude and we know that they will be excellent representatives of our school. Make us proud, Huskies!
We wish good luck to Ms. Blondin in her future teaching endeavours. Ms. Blondin has been a student teacher in Ms. Clement’s class for the past 2 months. She has enjoyed her time in the class and at DGH. She is looking forward to finishing off teacher’s college in the next few months and then beginning her teaching career. Both Ms. Clements and her students have appreciated your efforts, Ms. Blondin.
A pita order form should have gone home with your child(ren) today. Orders are due back on April 11th. As always, thanks to Ms. Graham for organizing! Please place all orders and money in a clearly labelled envelope or ziplock bag (with your child’s name and homeroom teacher on it).
