Recycling Rangers Visit DGH on January 6th (at 9:30 a.m.) for Ms. Schmiegelow’s, Mrs. Adams’, Mrs. Alexander’s, Mrs. Karklins’ and Ms. Burns’ Classes

The Recycle Rangers: Planet Protector Program challenges students and the school community to become active agents of change, finding new ways to protect the planet by using the 5 R’s –Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle/Compost.

The Recycle Rangers: Planet Protector Program is a joint initiative supported by four municipalities in the region; County of Peterborough, City of Peterborough, City of Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland County. The program has been designed and developed by partner organization GreenUP and is open to elementary schools within these municipalities.

The municipal partners recognize that there is a need to:

  • Reduce what is going to landfill from our schools.
  • Educate our young people on waste reduction.
  • Provide the encouragement, knowledge and resources to protect our planet’s resources and ecosystems everyday.
  • Inform and empower students so that they can educate their families and friends and be environmental leaders.
