parent Advisory council updates:
our Parent Council met on October 25th and we were pleased to welcome many new members. It was such a pleasure to keep adding tables to include everyone who attended.
Key agenda items included:
Fundraising – With our sights set on a scoreboard for the gym, along with the need for replacing some team uniforms, a number of fundraising options were discussed. One of our new parents, Samantha Black, explained how we could raise funds from her employer, Epicure. She also graciously offered to donate her commission to the school. Her offer was accepted and these sales will take place in November and early December. The product will be here in time to use them as Christmas presents.
Christmas Boutique – Susan Obertreis formed a committee that will organize our Annual Christmas Boutique. Families are asked to begin collecting gently used items that can be donated to the boutique as well as wrapping paper, tissue and gift bags. During the last week before Christmas, students will be able to come to the gym to purchase gifts for their family at a minimal fee. All donations will be donated to charity. This event is truly a favourite with students! Please do not send in your items until after December 10th.
