Belated congratulations, Voices!
On Monday, April 4th Voices (the DGH Choir) travelled to Peterborough to participate in the Peterborough Kiwanis Music Festival. The Kiwanis Music Festival is a massive music festival, with schools from all over the Peterborough and Kawarthas participating. The competition is intense, with choirs practising throughout the year in preparation.
Not only did our choir come home with a first place ribbon, but they were complimented throughout the day on their poise, professionalism and good manners! Way to go, DGH! They sang a beautiful rendition of an old Irish Folk Song called Sally Gardens arranged by Benjamin Britten, then picked up the tempo with an upbeat swing song called Sing Me a Song by Leonard Enns. The adjudicator thought they had a fabulous sound, great diction and wonderful musicality!
All of your hard work and practising paid off!
