Our Kindergarten students will be heading out on their Sugar Bush trip on Wednesday, March 25th. This is one of the highlights of the year for our youngest students! Becoming aware of life cycles is a part of the Kindergarten curriculum and there is no “sweeter” way to do this than a trip to the Sugar Bush!
Kindergarten students will learn how trees are tapped, the sap collected and how it is boiled into maple syrup. Hopefully whoever takes part will get a taste of the final product!
Given the rural nature of our school, I am guessing that more than a few of our families make their own syrup. A number of our Kindergarten students will probably be able to provide their own family’s experience in making maple syrup.
